Can confirm it is happening on our Dedicated server as well. We have a one year old Dedicated Server that can no longer make use of its Nether Hub.
We are having the same issue. We implemented a despawn mechanic to reduce mob count. As soon as our player limit reaches around 9 or ten we can't even walk around.
I have attached a world download.
Keep save and quitting the game and loading it back up over and over. eventually you will see the redstone blocks move.
The comparators fire during Chunk loading 50% of the time...
Update so just found out I had the items on the bottom right row of the chest. When the chunk loads it reads it as a full chest and fires the signal. When I place the items on the top row it worked correctly.
Easily avoidable issue and pretty dumb on my part lol. Its still a bug you can recreate it by creating the following circuit a double chest with a comparator two redstone lines into a block with a repeater on the end followed by a regular piston and a random pushable block.
place the items in the bottom right row and keep quitting and rejoining the world eventually when you join you will see the block has moved because of the comparator.
I tried finding slime the other day, but I realized I was next to an ocean and saw this. This is on our Realms server on Dalik. I think mob despawning needs to be the solution soon.
Just Stating this Effects Dedicated Server Software as well. So they know its not Server related or Realms related.
