In windows 11 playing on 26.1.2 this remains an issue across both vanilla and modded versions. The best workaround I’ve found is to add the sophisticated storage mod and carry a backpack with a jukebox upgrade so your music follows you around. This is far, far less than ideal but it does work if you’re willing to go to that length.
