UPDATE – After the new launcher update, and for a while it seems to be not happening in 1.7.2 I'll keep testing in 1.7.4 BUT so far it seems as though it MAY be fixed please do not lock this thread @Jar_
The bug has seemingly gone away, I just did a quick test on a kit server, and I was hearing every hit. This is resolved.
Updated, it is still happening in the 1.7.3/1.7.4 update.
