I have the same issue. Since the update Minecraft eats up memory. If I start up Minecraft but do not open a world I can see the memory usage climbing in Task Manager. it continues until RAM usage reaches 99% of the 32GB installed. If I open a game straight after opening Minecraft it very quickly becomes too laggy to use. When I close Minecraft it remains in the task manager, the memory is released very slowly, taking 10mins or more to return to normal at which point Minecraft.Windows.exe disappears from the task list.
