I think he means you're trying to launch the game .jar, rather than the launcher .jar

This is not something that can be changed by the Mojang team.
It is either an issue with the JVM reporting wrong information or the OS reporting wrong information to the JVM

It appears the login server is down, just be patient and you will be able to log in again eventually.

Did you try 'feeding' the beacon an iron ingot, emerald, gold ingot or diamond after selecting the boost?
