just noticed this thread is listed as resolved. It is far from resolved. The issue is still happening and I still cannot log on to minecraft.

Well minecraft worked for most the day. Unfortunately I shut it down and now it won't launch again. Tried the cache file bit but that did not work.

Just attempted to start the launcher again and the issue seems to have fixed itself. Game has launched 1.11.2 w/o issue this time. Sorry if I have wasted your time.
