+1, though the world I am having trouble loading is not as old as reporter's. Other worlds created with the same version load after the 1.9 update, this particular one does not.
Edit: My kids have updated Pocket Edition copies that can load this world. I am hosting the LAN game they are joining, and they can join this world while my game appears to be frozen, so something is happening that I can't see. But I just see the loading screen.
