the problem is most likely due to a link with the Xbox/live online account.
On IOS when I sign out of my Live account I can join a LAN game, but when I am logged in I cannot.
On windows10 edition (and on Lumia) you cannot sign out of the Live account...

when playing lan game between PC win10 edition and IOS this happens for me too.
having same issue on win10 and ios 1.0.8, local lan games between win10 and ios are also mot working for me
This could be similar to the REALMS-269 bug. I have downloaded my realms game where a similar event happened and it crashes everytime I want to load it. both on IOS PE and Windows 10 PE. (Also when I login to the realm it crashes, but other players can still enter the realm).
Try signing out of your Live account, with me I could join a LAN game that way. Naturally I don't have my original account available to me, and this is by no means a good solution to the problem, but it is an indication where the problem occurs.
