This just happened to me today. I exited the end through the portal and was at my bed right next to the stronghold end portal in the overworld. I broke my bed and jumped back into the end portal then exited the end again. This time I died due to falling damage, lost all my armor, everything in my inventory, and all my xp then spawned at world spawn with nothing.
