having a similiar issue over here. I own the server and I can log in it easily but my brother can't connect. On the log it shows xx.xx.xxx.xxx:59274 lost connection: Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.io.IOException: The received string length is longer than maximum allowed (17 > 16)
Actually the server never ran online, i'm trying to do so also, there is no scoreboard.dat to delete yet
