I am having this issue as well. I have an old i5-3550, Intel HD 2500 and 8gb ram. On 20w21a with low gfx settings (render distance still 12) I get on average 30 fps and the game has been perfectly playable. This snapshot I get 7-8 fps and chunk rendering is glacial.
