MC-21833 game crash Duplicate

Comments

Thanks Torabi.

I followed the steps from this comment in the thread and am now able to load the game:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/137381-official-corrupted-save-recovery-thread/page__st__1180#entry23592420

I lost all my inventory (not a big deal) and was spawned in a random part of the world, but I was able to get my bearings and find my way "home". I suspect the corruption is still present and will try to venture into the area I was in before and see if I can reproduce it again.

Yes, it's still an issue with the latest release (1.6.2). My map has been unplayable since probably version 1.2 or 1.3, but there were still crashing issues dating back much further.

Sorry, I sort of implied it initially but meant to clarify. A new world seems to work fine, which lead me to believe there is some form of corruption in the map, and was hoping that there was some way to repair the map/world. While the world I created is likely nothing special, I don't really want to start a new world. I haven't played Minecraft in a year due to the crashing, but continue to try when I hear of updates to the game in hopes that it will be able fix/bypass my issue.

As I suspected, I just updated Java (both 32 and 64-bit) and the same thing happens. The log file (which I've attached) seems larger than last time though.

I am doubtful this will help. I have previously kept Java up to date and it has never resolved the issue. Each time there is an update to the game or Java I have updated in hopes it would resolve the issue. I'll try and update to the new Java this evening but I don't see that it will help.
