MCPE-157541 Smooth Quartz has the same blast resistance of normal quartz Duplicate

Comments

As of June 14, 2022, this bug is still active on Bedrock Edition Release 1.19. Smooth Quartz seems to have the same blast resistance as its regular counterpart.

-Blast Resistance has been abbreviated to B.R.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Ignite tnt around iron blocks or any other B.R. 6 block

  2. Ignite tnt around smooth quartz

  3. Ignite tnt around regular quartz

Observed Results:
The smooth quartz block is destroyed far easier than any other B.R. 6 block and, in practice, seems to have the same B.R. as normal quartz or any other 0.8 B.R. Block.

Expected Results:
The smooth quartz should be able to withstand more of the tnt blast and should exhibit the same resilience as any other B.R. 6 block.

Note: After testing this in Java Release 1.19, I can confirm that, as the wiki would suggest, smooth quartz is intended to have a higher B.R. than normal quartz as it was able to resist the tnt far better than the normal quartz.

Conclusion:
In short, this bug is still active in bedrock edition, and furthermore, is not a result of a mistake on the wiki. The blast resistance of smooth quartz seems to be the same as normal quartz resulting in the two being literally identical in this specific situation.
