Do you know how I can contact a moderator directly? I can't see any messaging feature on my profile or anyone else's.

This bug report is still unresolved after 7 years, and I no longer wish to receive email notifications about it. I cannot find any email settings on my profile, nor is there a "Contact Us" or "Support" link anywhere on the site that I can find. Could anyone offer any help? Thanks.

I apologise. I did search, but I didn't find anything as I was searching for setblock destroy particles, rather than just particles in general. My bad.

I created a new world in 14w05b with the settings as you said, and this still worked. The crosshair was, however, a different colour when using enchanted items, but this was just because of the sandstone behind it, as opposed to the leaves in my screenshots above. The health and hunger bars still change colour with spawn eggs, and the crosshair still disappears. I think it might be caused by my version of Java, as my current version is not the most up to date. My current version is update 45, which I have corrected in the "Environment" field (I had accidentally put update 25). I will try updating it and attempting this again.
