Seriously though why is this still unassigned? This is the biggest issue out there in terms of affecting gameplay. Never mind it being highlighted as one of the top 10 issues on Mojang's own bug tracker, GenerikB a Youtube Partner with 350k+ subscribers highlighted this issue. It also affected a Mindcrack UHC. It's understood Dinnerbone watches this so why is it still left untouched?

Hopefully this is resolved soon as it is really preventing me from enjoying the game. Quite a number of votes also.

This doesn't really prove much but it is to show that when stood here and the zombies cannot reach me safely it causes incredible lag of all sorts. When I jump off it, the game 'catches up' and goes turbo for a few seconds as it tries to get to real time.

I've had this issue and I believe that it is caused when zombies cannot find a clear path to user/villager. I cannot upload a save file to prove this as I have a data cap but when in open space a large number of zombies (8) caused no lag to me. When I stood on a 4x4 area (just me no mobs) surrounded in lava, the lag exploded. Mobs barely moved, the moon jumps back and forth. I am playing in the 1.6.1 release and have had the issue since around 13w23b or around there. It is incredibly tedious to me that it has been an issue for so long and there has been non public recognition of it from Mojang despite it being a huge issue. I can however attach a screenshot to show what I mean.
