MCL-737 New game icon not working under Linux Incomplete

Comments

Well, the game itself works fine because it's a JAR. But I wouldn't expect any "advanced features" like the Twitch streaming functionality or minor fixes like these for the platform.

Edit: Also, completely unrelated to Minecraft, if you're planning on installing Ubuntu from scratch you might as well honestly just wait another month and start fresh with 14.04 in April. Of course, updating to it from 13.10 shouldn't be a problem, as that's what I'll be doing, but some people like to start fresh.

Sort of. It doesn't automatically use the correct icon. It does, however, actually have a WM_CLASS variable, so one could make .desktop files to actually force it to use the correct icon if he or she wished. However, the variable is "Minecraft 1.7.4", which means you would have to manually edit the file every time Minecraft received an update, which I'm not going to do.

Frankly, I don't care anymore. There's no point in me editing this "bug report" every few months when no one ever actually looks into it or takes it seriously. And it's clear that Linux support isn't a priority for Minecraft at the moment. So forget it, I'm not going to be "updating the affected versions" anymore, there's no point. It's clear no one with the power to do anything about it cares, and no longer do I.

Yes, it is. I updated the version to Launcher version 1.3.1.

Thank you for reminding me, I've admittedly stopped checking up on it since I imagine it's not very high on the priority list.

I am not sure, though I assume so. I will check this afternoon once I get off work.
