I was playing with my friend on ps4 and the same happened to me and there wasnt even another portal and I died and lost whole mending netherite gear but because a piglin took it my friend could retrieve everything important, but they should patch this bug, it also seems like its a new bug hopefully its gonna get patched before 1.17 because then there are gonna be more Bugs and they will not get to this one.
