Was testing a bit and also started an system which i did not use for a longer time to play Minecraft. The 1.6.73-j launcher works fine under Mint 18.1 (Oracle Java 1.8.0_121-b13) and also on my main system RHEL6 (openjdk 1.8.0_141-b16).
The 1.6.82-j launcher on the other hand is not working on both systems and every start attempt is always ending in Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main
And other launchers i tested like the FTBLauncher are working fine.
