I figured out the issue. It seems something happened with my syntax and an extra backslash found its way into each one of my arguments.

Okay, I'm really sorry about this. It seems this has been happening to me over and over again. I forgot the final statement at the end of the command that completes it. I'll put that back in and see if that does anything.

I originally set it to 9999999999. I tried removing five of the 9's and that solved my issue.

I reset it to a lower number. That fixed it, and probably also fixed my issue with chain command blocks. There needs to be something to prevent us from setting values higher than the maximum.

Just uploaded a screenshot showing the command block output

That is strange. I tried various different methods and not one of them worked.

That's really strange because it was initially saved as hi.txt. Then I changed it to hi.mcfunction. I have now idea how it ended up adding .txt back on. How do I change that on a mac?

x=126 z=-2609 to be exact

It occurs in all coordinates. It happened to me near the center of the world.

Can I just comment on the resolution of this issue? The affected version of the supposedly duplicated issue is not the same version of minecraft as the one I am using. Also, in his issue the sounds don't play at all. My issue is mainly that the sounds get cut off midway through.
