In 15w46a its still not working.
Upon trying to test porting from an older version of the game (1.8.8) with the "custom" beacons being made in that version I have taken notice that this also effects that version as well.
*I have before never tried these commands in this version as i normally played a tad older version of 1.8

exact commands used:
/blockdata ~ ~-1 ~ {}
/blockdata ~ ~-1 ~ {Primary:x,Secondary:x}
x is for values of "2,4,6,7,9,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23" that potion ids I tested and did not work
values of "1,3,5,8,10,11" are ids that do work
values of "24,25,26,27" I did not test
I really did think that this was a bug and not something that was intended as the commands used to do these things going back to 1.7 I thought were meant for map makers and this as well being a result that could be used in a map, I myself use this to make somewhat of a zone to make a safer world spawn and at times as a center point at a core of a base to give an extra boost.
From this i hope maybe someday this could be a feature that was meant to happen.
But taking it from someone at Mojang saying that this is not really a bug i will take it as this is closed. :? Time to find a diffrent way to do what i was wanting to do when I unknowingly noticed this unintended feature was gone. Thank you.
