Yep. My kids join my world (hosted on iPad Air 2, while they are in iPad Air 1). Fall damage is way too high, and happens at inappropriate times. For instance, when they go down the ladder into the mines, they die when they get to the bottom. If they start down the ladder and come back up, they are significantly damaged when they get to the top.
