After looking though this report I assumed it would be false and not reproducible due to the lack of comments and interest in the time the report has been open.

I do run a few Minecraft servers and can confirm that I didn't have any issues when running the 1.8.1 jar. However when attempting to reproduce this bug with the .exe version I did actually have the issue of the "log and chat" section of the GUI showing blank (as mentioned in the bug above). On my client it literally shows nothing, however the lower text box will execute and communicate with the server.

In response to Ocean Rider, my best guess would be that you had your server launcher in a non-executable or non-writeable location as from what I can see the main files weren't actually created. It is very strange how the EULA file has been though, this is not something I can reproduce so I would assume fixed or something funny on your end.

This bug can be partially reproduced. It should remain open until further investigation.

Even if it's a false alarm, it should definitely still be looked into because although they have a different case they should technically have the same UUID as Mojang only accepts new accounts based of a different letter/number combination. Having two show up when checking a player name may become a little confusing right? I'm with Ben on this one.
