As stated, it only works in singleplayer, where you can actually pause gameplay entirely.

EDIT: This is because of the filename of the sound files. Delete your assets folder, then disable Kaspersky Anti-Banner or any software like that.
Custom skin layers are not necessary.
You can start seeing the moon through the ground at Y: 310.3
