I too have the same issue. I slept in the bed to set the spawn point from when I die, but when I do die I end up on the roof as well. Its like it never took the altitude location.
In am seeing [Server thread/Warn]: unable to resolve BlockEntity for ItemStatck: Minecraft:light_gray_banner. This repeats 8 times. I saw it in 1.15.1 and 1.15.2. Not sure what this means. everything looks fine in the world.
