The new update V1.1.1 didn't help this same problem for me on an Acer Iconia A500 with Android 4.03.
Since the previous update when I press play the minecraft pe closes. It won't allow us to play.
Same problem click on Minecraft PE screen goes black & then back to home page. Worked fine before .15 update.

Have you found a resolution to this problem. My daughter is really upset because she hasn't been able to play Minecraft PE since the June update?
