Made an account just to comment on this. Definitely not working as intended. I angered a Zombie Pigman for a little extra EXP and gold, not expecting much, but it's been a few hours of regular gameplay and they still haven't forgiven me. I went a fair distance in the Overworld (to a Stronghold) and went back into the Nether (a few hundred Nether blocks away from the first pigman, near my base around 0,0), and they weren't aggressive at first, but after I tunneled back to my base and connected it with minecarts, the pigmen at the Stronghold portal became aggressive. Neither area's pigmen have ever calmed down since. I can hardly explore the Nether Fortress for more blaze rods, etc. without at least one pigman divebombing me from God knows where, and more often in groups to surround me. The Nether is supposed to be dangerous, but not THIS dangerous.

On the plus side, the eternal pigman anger has made for an excellent and easy source of gold. I can dig a pit, put some hoppers and slabs at the bottom with trapdoors at the top, and swing away at one corner and get tons of EXP and nuggets. I also have a fully auto gravity gold farm at my first base now, loaded up with a few double chest fulls of gold, again with very little effort on my end. Definitely a broken mechanic through and through. Hoping it gets fixed soon.
