MC-173692 Dolphins despawning Cannot Reproduce

Comments

@Vladimir, please take the time to read the full post before responding to any other reports. I didnt type it just for it to be looked over. The first bullet point clearly states that this also happens to unnamed dolphins. Not to mention, it was also named with spawn eggs and commands - still to despawn. ALSO not to mention, if it was purely 27535, you would expect this to happen to ANY and ALL of my passive or neutral mobs. Yet, time and time again, it is only the dolphins. You would know this if you read the post and/or took the time to recreate the issue - which I laid out exactly how to do.

If a dev or moderator assumed it to be a duplicate, then they would have editied my submission as such. But they have not because it is not a duplicate. Have a nice day.

@Hannah Farringer I'm sorry to hear, but really there is nothing you can do, yourself. Just track this issue and vote it - as more exposure means Mojang may see it and/or take it seriously. You may as well quit stressing because, as you can see from my post, I've tried everything within the game's limits to ensure they *aren't* dying, so it's nothing you can do. Sorry to hear about your wasted nametags! If I can make a recommendation, build an AFK Fish Farm (just youtube a tutorial) and you'll be swimming (excuse the pun) in them.

@Tyler McLain, I am sorry that you are dealing with this issue, but I am thankful that at least someone else knows that this isn't just some 'accidental deaths' and is actually a bug.

Did you try to recreate it using the steps I laid out? Are you also on Java 1.15.2? Any exposure or extra information could be very helpful for the developers.

Just had a thought that may help developers; I see older bugs posted here in regards to Dolphins not despawning whatsoever, so people's oceans were just full of them. I also saw older bugs that dolphins that played with an item also were failing to despawn. I believe that the Devs accidentally went too far with their fixes and made a mistake where they ALWAYS despawn, regardless of being in the spawn chunks/on a lead/in a minecart/nametagged. Hopefully this assists someone out there - or, who knows, I could be way out in left field.

@Justerfrog, yes, I am positive they aren't jumping out. One, I close off the top. Two, you can recreate this issue using the steps I laid out and you will see they despawn, well within the two minutes it takes for them to take suffocation damage.

Again, they are not dying, but despawning.
