For me, the issue is much better than before, and overall performance has greatly improved, but I still notice the issue occasionally. I haven't had much time to troubleshoot, but I'm noticing it on multiplayer (haven't tried single player). AMD FX-8150 @ 4.1GHz, Radeon HD6950 2Gb, Samsung 830 SSD, 8Gb Ram, Latest Java (Devoting anywhere between 1 and 4 Gb to MC made no difference). It is also accompanied with other glitchiness (i.e. seeing through the world when inside of blocks that aren't disappearing right away). Bearable, but still there for me. I notice it most when mining multiple blocks in quick succession. If I'm going slowly, it's not really noticeable.
