Same thing happened to me except for that I was in the nether, when I returned to the world my world progress was where it was an hour ago (about) I returned to the nether to see if that remained the same and it was also as if I had traveled back in time. My inventory remained consistent. Still had the wood from the tree I cut down. But the tree was still there.
