I think its the intel integrated graphics. I think Mojang changed, how the game gives tasks to the processor (for better multicore utilization). And somehow intel integrated graphics struggles (I ve seen this on a Intel Core i5-2520M, and someone has seen this on another i5) I dont know if downloading new intel drivers helps, but you can give it a shot. (latest version is like from 2015 so idk). It is not windows or mac specific, from what i ve seen.
