Yes achievements are enabled in my world. I was attempting to unlock all the achievements for minecraft and it was going fine (the achivements were unlocking) until I got the renewable energy achievement. It would not unlock, so I searched online and found that this achievement had been not unlocking for several players since the “power a furnace with a lava bucket” achievement was added to the game.
