I am seeing having the same bug. In my experience at least, the bugged stone, which can be turned into blocks of any stone type, does not stack with normal stone, which can only produce stone variants of blocks. At first I thought they did not stack because some were cooked from cobblestone in a furnace and some from breaking stone with silk touch, but that is just speculation
This problem still exists in the latest update. It is currently impacting me. I was kicked from a world and now I cannot rejoin
