The caves down the stairs are lit, and the mob would have to quite literally sprint to get behind me in such a short time, but yeah, I understand that's it's a bit of a stalemate here as far as magic creeper appearence goes.

Yes, but the clip was taken before I built that room, it used to be just a wall. If you look at the video, there's no door. Here are screenshots (2 in the video, 3 in the game I just launched) for comparison. I have an old backup of that world if needed, but there aren't really any places for a creeper to be spawned there.

Yes, after digging into the report, indeed the problem is the corrupted villager. After I deleted the villager through NBTExplorer, the crashes stopped and I didn't have any more issues.
I can't add too much except that I'm pretty sure it was the Mason Villager and I interracted and traded with it before, contrary to the issue in this ticket. No clue what caused the corruption.
No, this world specifically I started in 1.14 full release
