I have experienced this as well. I was playing in single player PE (iPad) and logged out. The next day I reloaded and all my villagers and cat were gone. They only stay within a small area and this has never happened with mobs before. I have had an incident where I reloaded and my inventory was wiped. I am unsure about chunks since I’m on iPad and don’t know how to or it isn’t a part of this platform. This was just the other day so it is V1.17.30.
