My girlfriend as both experiencing this same issue in Realms on the Switch (running version 1.21.121).
Blocks are delayed in breaking;
Gate/chest opening animation is delayed;
Laying blocks quickly in a row doesn’t keep up;
The game lags when fighting mobs such that they freeze and then hit you before you have a chance to react;
Opening chests is delayed;
Picking up blocks is delayed;
It all makes the plays experience rather frustrating.
