I was about to build a dock before I (fortunately) saw this thread. Sounds like a stupid bug. Vote +1.
Gerrard: My guess is, since you specifically asked them not to mark it as "Invalid", they marked as "Works as Intended" instead. XD
And I think what they are trying to say is not having horse spawners is intended, not the crash. Of course it may crash if you hack the game and add something that is not supposed to exist. Yes I agree it should be "Invalid".
Neospector: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can create any of them in "vanilla" Minecraft. According to the wiki, it can only be done by external editors, which are not vanilla and not officially supported by Mojang. You may call it a limitation, but definitely not a bug. A bug is an unintended error. They intentionally disallow creation of spawners, and the game is working as they intended. Not a bug to me. I understand the disappointment, but Minecraft Forum - Suggestions might be a better place.
Mateus: Because horse spawners are not intended to exist in vanilla Minecraft, I think. Editors are not vanilla.
It's not a bug. It's a nice feature that you don't accidentally break a block when trying to kill a mob.
Agree with Michael. How could this be intended?? You should catch the exception and give a better message.
