I have the same issue on the current ps4 bedrock edition 2.0 something or other. Ive bought the recent version of the game and cant join my friends and they cant join me. They can join each others because they have older versions with the newly applied update built on top. Ive spent £12.99 to a game alone and wouldnt have bothered if i knew this was going to be such an overseen bug. Ive tried all forums on the matter for solutions and none lead to a response from mojang. The bug with the same issue was apparently fixed in December 2019. Obviously its not working on the new version on ps4 so anyone whos bought it since December has been clearly lining up in forums for this to be answered/resolved. Unfortunately nothing yet
