Thanks for the reply.

Is the correct custom name tag different for give, summon or setblock or is it recommended NOT to use "minecraft:" in any of them?

Description is adjusted as you requested

So basically the bug is "Minecraft Launcher hides the second layer on 64x64 skinfiles if it has no transparency".

Correct?

If yes I'll update the task tomorrow that way

Hm, 1, 2 and 5 are 64x32 and explainted through the linked issue,

but 3 is also 64x64 and then not shown correctly, right?

Yep we can confirm this. Thanks a lot ^^

That would make the live of our designers a whole lot easier 🙂

I say thanks from them already. ^^

Hi again,

I tested another 10k heads again and didnt have a single invalid heads.

So: Looks very promising. I would say this bug is fixed. In case I find something again one day I would make a new bug report...

Thanks for finally fixing this bug!

You just made a lot of people using decoration heads very happy ^^

Ok will do so in the end of next week. ^^

I checked 8000 skinfiles without a single find untill now. Normally I always find a few invalid skinfiles within a lot smaller amount of skinfiles.

But I guess you did some kind of overall cache cleaning, too?

The bug showed changes over time, so invalid skinfiles suddenly reappeared while others disappeared.

I suggest I repeat my test next week to see if there're still no problems and inform you about the outcome lateron. What do you think?

Overall, it looks good so far.

Yep I'll start my check. Thanks for letting me know.

Hm, cannot confirm that.

I had a check running during the last days to see if all skinfiles work again (checked 13k from my website). I can confirm, that a few skinfiles which were shown as missing started working again when I wanted to post the result in the end. So the time of this caching bug seems to be very short... or there was some fix in the meantime.

But there're still a few skinfiles which dont work just right in the moment. I posted them in the other task: WEB-4566

And just to ensure:

We had this bug WEB-4566 which is a caching bug.

Then, last week, many skinfiles were removed due to a cleanup, but restored after it was recognized that those skinfiles are still in use with custom heads.

This second issue was fixed qickly, but the original caching bug WEB-4566 still seems to be unsolved, correct?

If so, then invalid skinfiles might still happen from time to time due to that caching bug.

Just made another testrun and got quite a bad result: 60 heads from the collection are not working right now.

Is it possible that this bug gets fixed soon? More and more people ask about the problems with the skinfiles.

Those are the results of my last testruns. It shows, that the skinfiles somehow repair themselves... the Pumpkin Comma works again..

Hello Robert,

thanks for the explanation. So we can still count on the promise that skinfile snapshots will never be removed?

I started my filecheck again and indeed, all skinfiles from above are valid again, but I found another bugged one:

2021-06-07
33022 - Old Dragon Fragment - http://textures.minecraft.net/texture/7aa09ad177fbccc53fa316cc04bdd2c9366baed889df76c5a29defea8170def5

So I guess the other bug is responsible for this again.

Please let me know when the above bug is resolved so I know when it should not appear again, and in case I detect some problems like this, I can open another task or so.

Thanks for the help ^^

That went a lot quicker than expected - thanks a lot, from me and from all users who uses custom heads!

Indeed 100% of the heads we tested are restored. In other words Dinnerbone's statement about snapshots from skins still counts and this was just a bug, correct?

https://twitter.com/Dinnerbone/status/464414369452142592

@Marcono1234: I thought of that, too - but I doubt it. First of all - lots of skins were made by me myself or friends of mine. We wanted to create decoration items, not virus stuff. Secondly - some of those skins which were deleted were very old "snapshots" - it's highly unlikly i those file appears to be a virus out of nowhere. Third - an antivirus-tool should recognize the difference between a normal file and a virus...

About Grums comment: I know those statements, but it's three years ago.Virus, disc space, lots of other stuff could have happened to change his mind...

If you've read this: https://minecraft-heads.com/dear-mojang
(if you didnt read it yet, please do it now) you know I try to retrieve all the lost skins - and we got 96,4% of the lost skins back already. Since the skins from this database are used VERY often within the internet I offer my help in case you need it...

@Marcono1234 or @kumasasa - would it be possible to you to inform a developer or a responsible person so we get an answer quickly here?

Update: Actually the textures of 4200 out of 15000 heads are missing... it seems random to me which head is deleted, so I guess its a hard bug...
