I think its a feature because if you die from falling at the bottom of the ladder it says "Player fell off a ladder"

I think this works as intended because it had the same behaviour back in beta.
It has also been corrupted and many blocks have disappeared
The world was converted to 1.15.1 without making copy. Do you want the world in 1.15.1?
No but it was an old 1.12.2 world. And when Mc was converting the world it crashed
