Confirmed for Minecraft version 1.13-pre2
Is it possible to fix this before releasing 1.13 fully?
I personally use tab as my inventory key and at least in 1.12.2 it does work. Even when in search tab and search bar is highlightet, the inventory will close when pressing tab again.
