I'm 100% sure on java this works as intended, but i don't know for bedrock.

Avoma, I uploaded the photo, the screenshot you see is the stairs to my mine. once i joined the game, the torches dissapeared, i had to replace them, its either a bug or a world corruption

Try reinstalling it, or make a new world. it also could be corruption
