I dont see why this is a feature request or a suggestion. Since the block texture changes when you turn brightness up/down.
I opend the game originaly in vanila 1.12.2 and when i opend minecraft with 1.15.2 (optifine) i saw exactly the same as i had seen in 1.12.2
But if you realy wan to see here is it in 1.15.2 Vannilla:
that seams like a dumb way to do it.
