I confirm this too,
On Linux Mint,
Just opening the door while standing in the block where the door is gets me stuck. Thankfully the villager woke up and left in the morning, closing the door behind him and I could move again.
To me it looks like you get caught behind the door. Because I was not facing the door I could not close it and I could not rotate my view. Everything else kept working, open inventory, change tool, brake block (but only the one i was facing), I even munched some bread while I was stuck.
