I am having the same issue with the villagers despawning also. I play on Xbox one and this only started after the 1.16 update came out. I have also had bees and chickens despawn. I have villagers in multiple locations and the issue happens at all locations. I don’t play on realms so that is not the issue and it is a peaceful world therefore not a mob issue either. Could it be a possibility that these entities are simply invisible? The villiagers were all name tagged.
