Is anyone looking into this issue?
reducing the render distance to 8 did make it run smoother. Even changing it to 10 produced the same low FPS as 16. Why would an update affect the game so negatively this way?
Not sure which instances your referring too. Once I set the launcher to update to 1.7.4 and start to play, the game runs fine for about 10 seconds and then slows right down to almost a freeze. Doesn't matter if I start a new world or play from a saved game either.
I assigned 4 Gigs of RAM to the game through the launcher. Again, running 1.7.2 runs perfect, no issues. 1.7.3/1.7.4 under the exact same settings is unplayable.

I don't think my graphic card is the issue, why would 1.7.2 work perfectly and not 1.7.4?

I went ahead and attached the crash report. Hope I did it right.
The only way I have been able to play the game now is by dropping the rendering distance to 8 or 9. It works mostly fine now but unfortunately it does take away from the game not being able to see that far.
