Same issue here. Was working fine yesterday afternoon. Stuck on white "Minecraft" screen this morning.

Minecraft PE 1.4.4 from the official Google Play store.
I've cleared data, cache, uninstalled the game and re installed, I've also logged out of the Xbox profile in the Xbox app. Still no luck.
I have a very unhappy 7 year old.
Like for others this issue seems to have resolved itself, at least for me. But if would be good to have an understanding of what the issue was.
