I got the same problem. And none of the chests from portal ruins have loot as well.
guys i found solution siple af but on wind 7
put minecraft on desktop(icon)
highlight it(press lmb once)
than rightclick
there will be option called trubleshot compability
click it
than say start program, it will be f*cked up still
than u press no try different settings
highlight windows vista 2008 and start with it
and that is all done
