There can be other biomes, but I don't think that their borders are supposed to look like this. They should look normal like between other, on a normal way generated biomes.
In Creative Mode you can fly under the bedrock level and don't die, as you should. If you go down enough, there will be a level of invisible blocks you can't destroy (I think it is invisible bedrock) on which you can walk. So there isn't generated a false death message, you die, because you hit the blocks too hard. Next, you just see the bedrock level, and you can't see the generated structures, as in earlier versions.
Hello Luis Robles,
On the 6th of june, 2015, I reported an issue "MCPE-8790" to you, but you couldn't reproduce it. I don't know why, I retried it in MCPE 0.12.1, but had the same result as before. Next, behind the world borders of the old world, there were some leaf textures. This happened never before, so you could need to try it more times if you want to reproduce it.
I have no idea why you couldn't reproduce it, my tablet has no jailbreaks/mods, so this can't be a reason. I added some screenshots of the world after making it infinite and of the textures at the world borders.
Best regards, Minendegu
