I found a workaround to this problem for me. This issue is related to your refresh rate being above 60hz. Setting your refresh rate to 60hz will fix this problem. My phone is a Motorola Edge 5G UW, with a refresh rate of up to 144hz. I have this problem as well, and I just found out that setting my refresh rate to 60hz fixed my problem. It's not touch controls as a while that are broken, but rather your phones refresh rate affecting the touch controls.
