Again did a 2nd control test in creative mode to prove this needs to be reopened. This is even more crystal clear of what I did.
Mob-sink-in-block2.gif
4 villagers in glass.
All 4 fall in the ground block when the ground changes state.
You will see at the end, I was suprised they will walk out of it too.
Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Java 1.8.0_101-b13
I'm curious if anybody who does this DOES NOT get the results.
I predict everybody on 16w33a can repeat this as I did.
Here's 100% proof in my last GIF upload.
This also proves it's directly related to -> https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-104259
@Meri Diana, my previous world was created in 1.10.2.
In my latest GIF above, you will see I recreated the issue. You can do it to.
1. Creative mode:
2. Build glass wall around villager on vegetables.
3. Create hole for you slip in.
4. Harvest what ever plant is under mob.
Continue destroying/harvesting plant/weeds until no new seeds are laid by villager.
5. Villager should now be standing on manicured dirt.
6. Wait for manicured dirt to become regular dirt.
7. When manicured dirt -> regular dirt, mob falls into block.
You can see in the GIF, that it happened with both villagers I trapped and tested.
Again, this looks like the same problem as https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-104259 , but in MC-104259, YOU get stuck in trying to fall into the block.
Here's a screenshot showing the problem still occurs with 16w33a.
All technical details are in the screenshot.
Win 10 Pro 64-bit
Java 1.8.0_101-b13
Asking if this problem can be reopened.
More accurately, this seems to occur once every 5-10 hrs.
It may just be coincidence, but this seemed to occur more frequently with 1.10.2.
If I upload my world for the developers to test the problem, I would need more information on what specifically(specific file or whole directory zipped) I would upload and suggestions on where to put it (Dropbox? other?). Thank you.
Hoping my attached gif will properly animate.
(In the GIF, you will see I aligned "CPU:" with the horizontal line of the ripe crop. I then didn't touch the mouse and took many screenshots. I was in a much more violent vibrating state than the GIF shows. The GIF also shows how sometimes I slip into the block.)
Problem still happens for 16w33a.
WIndows 10 Pro
Java 1.8.0_101-b13
In the case of the attachment above, I got stuck for a slightly different reason, yet the same. I was simply farming potatoes when suddenly I got stuck.
It's the same issue in that it seems I got stuck when the surface I was on changed state. Originally it became dirt when standing on it and getting stuck, but by the time I started started taking screenshots for the animation, it turned green (that's why I'm standing stuck on green and not dirt that I just farmed potatoe from).
To repeat myself,
when looking at the GIF, look at "CPU:" in the top center of the screen.
From here you can more clearly see me bouncing by a couple of pixels before slipping into the block (was not touching the mouse). Even though I took many screenshots to take the GIF, it doesn't represent how violent the up-down motion of a few pixels is. It is extremely violent. Very very bouncy.
I can see that Green Villagers has been purposely added.
Continuing to see with 16w33a.
Let me add as well that you can not interact with them. They just take up space.
UPDATE:
If when Green Villagers are released in the formal release, will my world get corrupt because I have them? I'm curious if I should kill them and not collect them if in the future you can interact with them. Currently have 4 and growing in a short period of time.
(I have no idea what Green Villagers are supposed to do)
Version 1.10.2
Happens extremely often. More specifically, on average, for only having 2 farmers with access to this field, it occurs ~1/hr. If I play for a few hours, I frequently have both farmers fallen into a block and nobody farming. (this comment was supposed to be attached to the screenshot. I didn't expect it to append to the comments section.)
@Alexander, I just saw your post now. I don't know how to do what you asked, but I will try and figure it out to help.
UPDATE: No, I can't find 16w33a.
I found the following, (see link below), but not the actual build.
https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC/fixforversion/15659
UPDATE: Figured it out and trying 16w33a. Thank you.
UPDATE: After a good amount of time where it seems I should have seen farmers stuck in a block, I haven't seen anything. However, I still get stuck in a block sometimes. Reported that here with an animated GIF. May be the same root cause to this issue.
MC-104259
(hope I'm reporting this in the correct location. I searched for duplicates and found this post.)
I have had this issue countless times now on 1.10.2.
So far it's only happened to me with villagers and only with farmer villagers on rough(unraked) dirt blocks that had farmed. I don't know if it happens to any others as the others all stand on stone blocks and are fenced away from dirt.
It's easily happened ~8 times now and looks just like the many other screenshots. I will break the block, they will climb out, and I'll replace it with dirt again, and again they get stuck. I now replace those particular blocks with stone, but they just get stuck in other dirt blocks.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but all my villages are underground and the are they farm was stone, but I replaced it with dirt for farmers to farm. I have no villages outside so I don't know if it happens there.
This now happens so frequently to where if I leave and return, ~70% chance I will have 1 of 2 farm villagers sunk in the dirt, or both of them sunk in the dirt.
Win 10
Java 1.8.0_101-b13
I will also add here, as I found a similer issue described elsewhere, but it was flagged duplicate and referenced to here,
Issue: I get stuck in a block.
More details: Sometimes when jumping from one level to another, (haven't found a pattern yet) I will be stuck in an (seems invisible) block and struggle to move.
Haven't found a way to repeat the issue, but it's occurred > 4x now. All 1.10.2. I happens so often now, that I'm scared to walk around when it's getting dark and I'm near an unlit area. If I get stuck, I can't defend myself well.
Once it occurred while digging sand with a Efficiency V shovel. Slowly I walked off a ledge hoping gravity would allow me to fall and unstick myself. It worked.
Another time with Efficiency V shovel on sand, an invisible block was created. I couldn't walk though it. I placed a land block there (don't remember if it was sand, dirt, or rock), dug it away, and it cleared. I was now able to walk through this point.
Again, although it's not exactly related, I found this issue reported elsewhere, but those were labeled duplicate and referred to this post, so I'm posting it in the comments. Don't know how to reopen the issue.
Argh... 5x I created time consuming detailed posts with supporting data here.
Created NEW issue --> https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-106466
Argh..
This will be my last bug report. Minecraft is paid for software with paid people on staff to make it better. I'm not getting paid for helping to make your software better to keep the staff, developers employed, collect Microsoft stock shares, and make more money.
Any other bug reports from me, then refund my purchase of Minecraft for helping you or pay me as an independent contractor.
Those that are volunteers here, I feel sorry for you. Working for free to help build feed and cloth people in poor places/countries is one thing. Working for free to help a profitable business make more money that increases it's stock price and makes it's investors more money is another.
